Meet Dr. Mendez
Dr. Paula Mendez is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontists.
She is a proud Board Certified Endodontist with a proven track record and commitment to excellence, education and
practice of the highest standards in Endodontic care.
Dr. Mendez received her endodontics specialist training at University of Pennsylvania Dental School, one of the most prestigious programs worldwide in this field and a leading school in Micro endodontics and Microsurgery. She earned the Grossman Award, the highest recognition conferred by the University of Pennsylvania Dental School and is currently serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania Post-Graduate program in Endodontics
She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Universidad Javeriana, School of Dentistry, Colombia. She also received her first Postgraduate Program in Endodontics in 1996.
For 12 years Dr. Mendez maintained a very successful private practice focusing onroot canal , Microendodontics in Colombia. As a leader in the field she was a clinical associate professor and President of her regional Endodontic Association.
In 2010, after graduating from U Penn, Dr. Mendez and her family decided to move to Texas, a state they love from early on in their lives and where she and her husband had the opportunity to visit as international exchange students at UT Dental school at San Antonio. For 10 years now, Katy has been their home and now the site for her new specialty office.
Dr. Mendez has a passion for academic excellence and learning. She has been a member of the Distant Learning Committee of the American Association of Endodontists and has held teaching positions at the Pennsylvania Dental Microscope Training Center that gathers dentists from around the world that come to be trained. She lectures nationally and internationally . She is also a co-author of a chapter in the book Microsurgery in Endodontics by Syngcuk Kim, 2019.
She makes it a priority to offer Endodontic Care with kindness and professionalism. Every patient and case is unique and will be treated as such. The reviews of our patients reflect how they perceive her passioned and caring nature.
In her free time, she likes to spend time with her husband Jorge and her two sons Jose and Felipe. She is the biggest fan of her son’s college soccer team.
