Meet Dr. Mendez
Dr. Paula Mendez is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontists ,Board-Certified Endodontist committed to providing endodontic care at the highest clinical and ethical standards.
She completed her advanced specialty training in Endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, one of the most respected programs worldwide and a leader in micro-endodontics and endodontic microsurgery. During her training, she received the Grossman Award, the highest academic honor awarded by the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Mendez currently serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the University of Pennsylvania Postgraduate Program in Endodontics.
Dr. Mendez earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana School of Dentistry in Colombia and completed her first postgraduate program in Endodontics in 1996. She maintained a successful private practice for over 12 years in Colombia, focusing on root canal treatment and micro-endodontics, and served as a Clinical Associate Professor and President of her regional Endodontic Association.
After completing her specialty training, Dr. Mendez and her family relocated to Texas, where Katy has been their home for more than a decade and is now the location of her specialty practice.
She is deeply committed to academic excellence and lifelong learning. Dr. Mendez has served on the Distance Learning Committee of the American Association of Endodontists, taught at the Pennsylvania Dental Microscope Training Center, lectures nationally and internationally, and is a co-author of a chapter in Microsurgery in Endodontics (Syngcuk Kim, 2019).

Outside the office, Dr. Mendez enjoys spending time with her husband, Jorge, and their two sons, Jose and Felipe, and proudly supports her son’s college soccer team.
